Goodbye, 2008...

Hello, 2009!

Happy New Year!

Highlights from 2008:

1. Moving Back to Abilene

2. 6 months living with my parents (yes, that was a very GOOD time!)

3. getting back into school! (only one semester left!)

4. getting the best job of my life at the counseling center

5. celebrating 2 whole years as Mr and Mrs Brown

6. moving into our first free-standing house

7. making wonderful new friends!

8. singing on a worship team

9. empty bowls project!

10. my digital rebel

11. second-shooting a wedding with my friend caroline

12. putting christmas lights on our house

13. going to Gruene and Dripping Springs to see old friends

14. Austin's grad school experience

15. spending lots of fun times with my sister

There are so many other things that could go on this list, so I'll stop there. But in a nutshell, 2008 started for us in a new place with new goals and new beginnings. It was a little rough at first trying to find a place again after leaving the incredible community that we had. But God is so good and had a plan all along.

We've seen him work in mysterious and wonderful ways and though there have been rough patches, he has been a vibrant part of our lives this year. I'm never going to get it perfect, but that's the beauty of it. We are resilient and very plastic creatures. We can change, we can adapt and we can grow. Who knows what the end product will be, if that's even a feasible assumption.

Resolutions:

1. Run a 5k

2. Graduate and start grad school

3. establish good habits/disciplines

4. read the Bible more

5. continue seeking God's will

6. play more music!

7. continue building relationships with dear friends

8. take more pictures

9. be a better blogger!

10. make time for crafty things like sewing, painting, baking

11. grow tomatoes

I'm sure I could add a billion things to this list too, so I'll stop here as well.

And so, Happy New Year!

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,

And never brought to mind ?

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,

And days o' lang syne ?

CHORUS:
For auld lang syne, my jo,
For auld lang syne,
We’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.

And surely ye’ll be your pint-stowp !

And surely I’ll be mine !

And we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,

For auld lang syne.

CHORUS

We twa hae run about the braes,

And pu’d the gowans fine ;

But we’ve wander’d mony a weary foot,

Sin auld lang syne.

CHORUS

We twa hae paidl’d i' the burn,

Frae morning sun till dine ;

But seas between us braid hae roar’d

Sin auld lang syne.

CHORUS

And there’s a hand, my trusty fiere !

And gie's a hand o’ thine !

And we’ll tak a right gude-willy waught,

For auld lang syne.

CHORUS
