What a weekend!

We're almost half way through January and I'm having a blast so far! This weekend has been one of those weekends that I want to remember. It has been so much fun. We were given an old church piano and I have been sooo excited to get it moved in, crossing my fingers that it would fit in our tiny house. I had never seen it before we went to pick it up and when I did I was surprised to find that it was painted white! The piano bench was covered in a lovely shade of avocado corduroy, and one of the legs of the piano had been sadly ripped off. But...it's a tiny piano (as far as pianos go) and it fit perfectly in our house. I wasn't sure about having a white piano until I discovered that I had exactly enough lovely black and white damask fabric to recover the bench, and now it looks absolutely fabulous! I'm going to have my mom paint a verse behind the music stand in black letters and I think it's going to turn out to be smashing.
But the most wonderful part has been the two days now that Austin and I have been hanging out in the guest room playing piano and singing together. We have a long way to go, but at this rate, we'll be playing concerts before you know it! (just kidding). Oh, and the poor broken leg fit back in the space it is supposed to, so that worked out okay too.
I spent hours yesterday with my sister on my makeover shopping trip! For Christmas, I asked for a makeover and everybody pitched in. We found some awesome after Christmas sales and I couldn't be happier. Oh! And I chopped off my hair before Christmas...15 inches, as you can see in my new profile picture.
Then I found out today that I get an HSU class ring free from the school for graduation, and that made me really happy.
And then today we went to Starbucks with some giftcards that we had forgotten about and Austin surprised me by buying me a steel water bottle I've had my eye on for months. It's been an incredible weekend, and I don't think I could have ended Christmas break on a better one.
We start classes tomorrow, and I'm not really ready, but a weekend like this one sure does help.
.......

On another note, here's a verse that I really enjoyed today:

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one
another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with
gratitude in your hearts to God." Col. 3:16
